Huntsville Alabama Location Guide
Finding the perfect location for your session or elopement is one of the most important parts
of loving your photos! Luckily, Huntsville is full of beautiful + unique spots that provide
the best backdrop for your session.
When deciding on a location, remember to be true to yourself! Are you someone who loves nature, water + trees? Or are you more of a city person who loves architecture + tall buildings?
Feel free to click through the galleries to see examples of how each
location looks through my lens!
If you're looking for an urban atmosphere with a lot of diversity, this is the spot for you! With everything from golden Hour rooftops, to white columned historic buildings to quant coffee shops, all within walking distance! It's a great spot for a fun couples session or professional headshots.
easy to access + pet friendly
Mountain top views without the distance. Monte Sano State park is a Huntsville treasure + a very popular spot for photoshoots, especially during autumn when the leaves are showing off the most! It's a great space for lots of movement during your session + just a short hike to a trickling waterfall below.
$5 Cash/Person entry fee + Pet Friendly
A perfect option for Spring + Summer with lots of variety! There are tons of beautiful flowers + thriving plants. The Butterfly House is the largest in the Nation + you just can't beat the golden hour sunlight coming over the entrance building!

If you're looking for an outdoorsy area, but want something more unique than Monte Sano - this is a great spot for you! Madison County Nature Trail is a beautiful combination of woodsy + water. On top of Green Mountain in Southeast Huntsville rests a small lake, an A-Frame chapel + a covered Bridge!

Big Spring Park
A Huntsville classic! Big Spring Park is very popular for many different activities. You are likely to find locals relaxing in the grass or walking their dogs. With a large manicured lawn, pond filled with ducks, + several fountains - it makes a great spot for a picnic photoshoot!
Free to public + Pet Friendly
Grassy Field
Although this isn't one specific location, it is a beautiful option for a "free-spirited, running through a field in a romantic comedy" vibe.. tall grass + an open field gives your photos a quality that's good enough to go viral on Pinterest!
(Please note that the location you see has since been destroyed for commercial use.
A new field will need to be scouted before your session. Don't let this discourage you - I have a few options in mind!)
Free to Public + Pet Friendly
Twickenham + 5 Points
If you're looking for something unique + full of fall color, Twickenham Square is the place to be! Even if it's not fall, you can soak up the downtown neighborhood feels. With many historic homes from the 1800's, this isn't a modern day neighborhood + while taking photos in someone's neighborhood might seem like a weird thing to do - it's quite popular + makes for some beautiful photos!
Free to public + Pet Friendly
Want to get IN THE WATER??
Wildflower Trial is a hidden hiking trail in the Blossomwood area. This spot is a summer-time dream!
With a crystal creek flowing beside the trail, it is a beautiful location if you're daring enough to get in the water for your session (something I highly recommend for this location!)
Free to Public + Pet Friendly
A Local Coffee Shop
If you know me, you probably know that I Frequent local coffee shops as often as possible. Gold Sprint is one of my favorites! With a warm + inviting boho interior, Gold Sprint is sure to give your photos that Instagram quality! Huntsville is home to many wonderful local coffee shops + Gold Sprint is not the only one!
Feel free to check out Honest Coffee + The Greenroom as well!
Free to enter, coffee purchase suggested.
Pets Not Allowed.
